Healthcaresector is undergoing a major change gradually, with BigPharma outsourcing research to external companies and focuses its activities on products that are late in development (Phase III-IV) and commercialization. Meanwhile, two thirds of all drug patents expire in the next few years and the new drugs coming to market have little or no opportunity to weigh against the sales pur that patent output leads.
This means that we must find new ways to generate cash flows for the future - by reaching new markets, consolidate and exploit synergies between the companies and not least broaden their range of products and services to the healthcare providing sector. |
